This number represents the number of bits of colour data to retain - a higher number retains more of the original colour.
Crush Resolution
float
Reduces the resolution of the video signal, pixelating the output. The actual video resolution remains unchanged.
Description
Takes an incoming video signal and reduces the bitrate by a specified amount, effectively removing colours and creating retro-style computer game effects. The effect can also pixelate the video signal, as if the resolution is being reduced. Note - this effect does not actually reduce the bitrate of the outgoing video signal, so cannot be used by itself to compress data.
